Detail two reasons why we change the ISO

1. You manually increase your ISO setting when you are taking photos in dim light conditions, mostly (anywhere dark)

2.You manually Decrease your ISO setting when you are taking photos in high light conditions

Explain the difference in depth of field between a wide and a narrow aperture
1.A narrow aperture increases the depth of field which means the shots will be more detailed especially in close up shots or shots of buildings,

2.A wide aperture reduces the depth of field and focuses attention on one subject whilst making the background blurred.

List four considerations you had to take into account when producing your pop-art photography. For example, depth of field, shadow, etc

1.Used a low ISO because there was red head lights.
2.Placed the red head lights directly in-front of the subject so there was minimal shadows
3.Used a narrow aperture so my up-close shots where detailed
4.Used different colored background to experiment

Describe when you would use the 'A' and the 'P' modes on a camera

1.P makes your image brighter or darker by adjusting the aperture and shutter speed for you but it doesn't change the ISO

2.A adjusts every single setting on your camera for you by changing the shutter speed, ISO, aperture.

Evaluation

                                                    Evaluation

At the start of the project we was given a task which was to create a Pop-art final design, we had to research other artists and then get ideas from them. Also we had to create a lighting set up for our shots and then, after we had to edit them all.

Firstly I researched Pop art and artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol also how today’s modern artists use Photoshop and other computer aided design programs to create Pop art. Also I learned how pop art is only a few colours so it stands out. After the research I created a lighting set up which consisted of two red head lights one on the left one on the right and a white backdrop with a camera facing forward on a tripod.

After that We had to create a list of items that we could create in our final design two of the items that stood out to me the most was the  Malteser packet and a sprite drink this is because they have got a few simple colours on them and making them into a pop art image would be a successful idea. Furthermore I created a proposal on what I was going to do, (what I was going to take a picture of) and how I was going to edit the images. Also what tools I will use.

I then started to take my images with the same setup I created, Some images where on a white backdrop and some was on a blue and some on a black, the ones that stood out the most was the ones on a white background Because there was no shadows and no reflections from the backdrop. After all them images we created a contact sheet and chose one image that stood out the most.

After choosing my final Image I started to edit it in Photoshop CC by first cropping the Packet out and changing the colour  on it by using the Hue/Saturation tool, then I created a black and white background and made half of the image dark and half of it bright by using the gradient tool. Then I converted the layer to a smart object and then clicked filter gallery on the filter section which gave me a selection of filters and I chose the halftone pattern this is what gave it the dot effect and I changed the sizes of the dots to my liking then when I finished that I filled the layer to the colour I wanted which made the background look professional and I added the Malteser packet with whatever colour I chose onto the background and that’s how I created one of the packets and I done the same thing for all the others ones by changing the colours on them and the background colours too , I then added all of them onto an a3 paper which was 6 edited images all together. I believe everything went well I completed everything that was on my proposal.

Contact Sheets

                                                                           Test shots

These Images where all took with a black background however the images P1080485.JPG, P1080486.JPG and P1080487.JPG where took with an ISO of  300 this gave the images more detail and we can see the vibrant red on the packet also the red head light was far away from the packet , around 3 metres, however the other images where took with an ISO of 100 and the red head light was around 80cm distance from the other images, this made the images dull and the colors less vibrant.

All these images where took with the same ISO of 200 also the red head light was really close to the packet that's why it has got many shiny/reflective areas, the black background wasn't suitable because it made many shadows, Also it would've been hard to get rid of them when editing the images on photoshop.

Furthermore these images where took with with a blue background, The image P1150182.JPG was took with no light as you can see it is very dark, I did this to just test the image , and without light the image turned dark and with minimal detail, all the images where took with an ISO of 200 and a redhead light which was around 60cm away, also the blue background reflected many light which would also be hard to edit.

The image I chose for my final design was this one because, although it has got some reflective light, is the one with most detail and the one with the most vibrant colours red, white, brown etc. Also the background is white which makes it easy to crop and edit the image,

Editing

Final product

I started editing my Malteser packet I firstly used the lasso tool to crop out the packet and then , I used the Hue/saturation tool to change the colors on my malteser packet. in this one I chose green.

Then I hid the Malteser packet after changing it green, and started to work on the background,

I had to change the background to black and white, after that I used the gradient tool from one corner to the other parallel so it gave it a dark side and a brighter side

After that I converted the layer to a smart object

I then converted it to a smart object and then I clicked filter Gallery on the filter section

By pressing that It gave me this menu which was the halftone pallet, this is made the dot effect and I could change the sizes of the dots to my liking  either big or small, I changed it closer to big so the black dots stand out.

After I have completed that I filled the layer with the blue color that I wanted

This made the background look proffesional and pop artsy

Then I unhid the green malteser packet and placed it on the background, I then used the erasor tool to get rid of some of the background and make my packet stand out and eye-ctaching to the viewers.

I then added a new page and used a ruler tool to make the page layout, this was to add all the different packets I did and put them together as one

I then started to add all the packets I have done onto this page and this was my final product, I believe it looks eyecatching and proffesional.
